Founded in 1984, we are a branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, a national non-profit organization made up of provincial bodies and local branches.

Our mission is to improve the mental health of persons in the City of Richmond through public education, recreational, vocational, volunteering and supported housing services and programs.

We believe that all people share the same universal needs for security, belonging, recognition, and achievement. People who struggle with a mental illness are no different.

The attitudes of the community are of extreme importance in determining if a person who has a mental illness can be reintegrated into their community. Acceptance by neighbours, friends, family and co-workers can make the difference.

The Canadian Mental Health Association - Richmond Branch values consumer involvement and encourages the Richmond community to respond to the needs of its residents.
